What is the electronic device small and cheap for a better text entry, with a near normal size keyboard?

I want a cheap, light and small electronic device that can be used for entering text and basic editing. Should a keyboard that can be used to touch type (the size standard keys.) It is also (obviously) have some connection to facilitate the computer to get files on / off the device. A laptop is too much. Even a PDA is exaggerated (but collapsible keyboards). The main objective would be to write during the trip, airports, etc. Any recommendations?

The first question is what you need built-in WiFi Internet access, if not and if you do not want to spend much, I like the Palm Tungsten E2 $ 200, but has a SDIO (also support SD memory card) slot so you can add to any Palm WiFi card compatible with WiFi. A cheaper alternative to E2 is the Palm Z22 is a PDA base, but has a lower resolution screen and a regulator and not an SDIO slot. If such as integrated Wi-Fi access to any number of Dell Axim. I know you said PDA is an exaggeration, but the device described there. Keyboard works with Palm or PocketPC devices on the checklist in PCWorld, http://www.pcworld.com/howto/article/0, help, 110,986.00. asp

Travelling with your business

Recently we have a two week trip to visit family in Georgia and Iowa, spending a total of 6 days to drive cars. Now, first, a small business knows they can not leave his business for 2 weeks and expect to find at full capacity, sometimes running all. Second, owners of small business knows that he can not sit in a car for 6 days and does not work. What a waste of precious time! Here are some tips that I made on how to help make your trip go smoother:

Call ahead and check the capabilities of the Internet. When booking, find a hotel that has Internet access at high speed. Most Hotels are taking these capabilities. If you have a laptop, if your room will be able to support their team. This is important because I'm gone at a hotel in Nashville, TN and was told he had no Internet in every room, but to maintain a business room for me. A Once there, I was told they had no rooms available. I had to go down the hall late at night to check my email, and of course I could not do my job because I needed to download files from my computer. Make sure the room will be guaranteed access Internet. Call and find out if you need special equipment to help you use your Internet service. If you have a laptop, do not worry not. Most hotels have a business center which provide Internet access and a computer. Find out what you have to use and ensure that sufficient.

Make a list. Decide what you want to work. List of things to do. It's your "to do list", make sure packing everything you need to do to complete your list. If necessary, an "A" pack list to make sure you take everything you need. There nothing worse than going 200 miles from home, and realizes that customers left a folder in the house key, and now can not complete its work.

Make sure you have all the necessary equipment. Here are some things you should consider:

Portable

All accessories for the laptop, including hand baggage and the bag. (If you do not have a laptop bag, I have a nice, inexpensive, black leather Sam's Club).

AC adapter. Unless your laptop has a battery life, you'll need an adapter. I an inverter of 300 watts at Radio Shack. Manage my laptop Nice. If you are unsure what is necessary, ask the children to go to your store computer or call the manufacturer and ask the computer what are the requirements.

Something to configure your workstation. I have a TV set cheap $ 10 Wal-Mart return to work wonderful. It consists of my laptop keyboard and mouse, and is comparable to having a small office. It bends when I'm not used to not occupy too much space. (This is for those who exploit them.)

Wireless PC Card, if you have one. Some hotels will allow you to connect wirelessly in hotels.

Make all accessible. When packing your car, make sure that everything you must be in the range. Make sure you do not need to pack all necessary files in the trunk in doubt, keep them out! If you fly, do not check the job market.

Use the time to catch up "subordinate" to work. Sometimes I find I am so busy with my clients, I do not have time to do my job. Just stack. I spent several hours of my trip by doing things such as organizing my humble point of view, my computer files, sorting through old files, so use the time in the car or plane to your advantage!

Enjoy! Remember this is a holiday. Do not waste your time working full! Working while on the road to travel, but when you reach your destination, enjoy of your time. If you are driving, watch the landscape around her at work, so you can enjoy. Be sure to enjoy your family and friends while traveling!

This wonderful and safe trip!
